Sneak Preview

First peek at a very special vessel and a display-case. These pieces will be seen in the Collectors of Wood Art booth in Chicago's SOFA (Sculptural Objects/Fine Art) exposition in November of this year.

Vessel: Translucent Norfolk Pine (Of course!), 7" H x 9 3/4" Dia. This is the last of a series I did last year, from a uniquely wonderful log. Though I shy away from titles, I did identify this series as KYSO...(Knocks Your Socks Off). The series was introduced at the Collectors of Wood Art conference in San Francisco. I consider it fittingly symmetrical, now, to present the last piece from that series at the upcoming CWA conference in Chicago. (This vvessel was completed even brfore the last conference, but I've kept it for my own private pleasure till now.)

Display Case: Designed and constructed specifically to display this KYSO vessel, by Marian Yasuda, a Hawaii woodworker. It is based upon Marian's showstopping entry in last years Woods of Hawaii wood-show. Eucalyptus Citriadora; 20"x20"x20"; designed for either free-standing or wall-hung display (including corner locations).
